It was better to spend the money on an APU first, then add a GPU. The new 3200G is just a few dollars more than the Ryzen 5500.
finding a used one in the range of 40 to 50 dollars seems about right.
For eSports, the RX 5600 XT provides sufficient performance. Keep in mind that eSports games are typically played at 720p or 1080p with low settings to get the best frame rates, and these titles generally don’t require a lot of hardware power. I’ve also heard people manage CS:GO at an IGP of 720p.
Eximo is correct about pairing an R5-5500 with an RX 5600 XT. A decent budget air cooler I’ve used is the Arctic Alpine 23, which costs around $12 USD and should work well for this CPU. My mom’s HTPC with an FX-8350 also uses one and functions properly. Although she doesn’t use much power, it’s a 125W CPU compared to the R5-5500’s 65W. I’ve also seen it run smoothly on a Ryzen 5 3600X and a Ryzen 7 1700.
If you already have an air cooler from as early as the AM2 era, you can stick with it since the mounting system matches perfectly and those older CPUs were all around 100W.
