For your reference, you own an “I9 14900KF” and a “MSI B760M P” builder. Many people discuss problems with the 13th-14th generation Intel chips, and there’s a microcode update meant to resolve those issues. After updating the latest BIOS on your board, you might want to verify the microcode installation thoroughly. Simply installing the latest BIOS isn’t enough—check for confirmation messages, ensure the system boots correctly, and possibly run diagnostics to confirm the fix works properly.

Yes, as long as the bios version exists or is updated, it should be straightforward. I should also mention that using an i9-14900KF and pairing it with a B760 board is risky—it might not work and could waste a K-series CPU. Depending on the VRMs, it could cause issues. For optimal performance, I’d recommend a Z690 or Z790 motherboard instead.

I'll address the oxidation problem by implementing necessary measures to stabilize the material and prevent further degradation.

It’s wise to verify the CPU’s actual microcode version. The newest BIOS release doesn’t ensure accuracy. Many makers delay both BIOS and microcode updates. MSI has been criticized for this. Using CPU-Z can help confirm the correct microcode. I think version 0x12B remains the latest for Intel 13th and 14th Gen chips. If your BIOS uses an older version, the thread here details how to upgrade it during startup. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threa...ly.325403/

Thanks for the guidance. I've set up CPU-ID and confirmed the correct microcode is installed. Thank you for your assistance.
