The recommendation for 980 Ti or Fury X comes from the system requirements. The VRAM needs to match or exceed it, so 6GB is suggested for smoother performance with Fury X. Using Fury X on a 4GB VRAM setup may cause issues, but upgrading to 6GB should help avoid performance problems.
