You're actually using two dual-channel configurations continuously. The CPU's different sides aren't four separate channels, and each RAM slot has four channels. Performance gains are only slight when switching from single to dual channels, unless you're handling memory-intensive work. If you're interested, I'd arrange the two RAM sticks on the same color as the other side for better alignment.
Ensure four DIMMs are placed in dual channels on one side of the CPU. Populate each channel to make full use of quad channel. ASUS X299 boards follow this configuration.
