Q's 10700k
Q's 10700k
I’m not sure if I want to upgrade to the 12th generation unless I’m willing to spend around 10700k. My plan is to get a full custom loop watercooler and connect it with my RX 6800. I think the 10900k is the best choice since it meets my 760mm total radius requirement, even though it’s a bit pricier. The 11900k is also overclocking-friendly, but both are better options than the 10700k.
Which tasks on your PC are missing and how can they be enhanced? The objective is clear—clarify what needs improvement. What are your aspirations?
It's a enjoyable pastime to experiment with technology, though usually within a limited budget my aim is to achieve a Rufles 6900xt since I already own the waterblock.
The 11900K is just a silly joke. It does worse than the 10900K. The 10700K actually outperforms it in certain cases too. A 5900X would likely surpass both of them. Particularly for an AMD graphics card, it’s unclear why you’d stick with an Intel CPU. A 12th gen chip might be worth considering, but otherwise I’d recommend AMD CPUs.
It makes sense to stick with what you have now. The 10700K remains a top-tier CPU that usually delivers the best performance for your graphics card in most games. Unless you're handling heavy tasks like large code compiles or detailed 3D rendering, I think it's better to wait. You already have a solid setup. Next year you'll see Zen 4 and Raptor Lake releases, along with the RTX 4000 series, and hopefully prices for both RAM and graphics cards will drop. That’s when you might notice a real upgrade.
Right, this was current upgrade from a x99 platform. had that thing for 5+yrs, the most i do is light video editing on Davinci Resolve and 4k gaming at 120hz
