Onus:
The following step is to examine your RAM. It could have been increased beyond its usable capacity by your OC. You might need to adjust a strap or set a lower speed, for example DDR2-533 instead of DDR2-800 (which the OC will increase but still stay within limits).
Olet. I’ll attempt that next. Could it be? It seems like bad memory if it doesn’t overclock even 10mhz after 800mhz. 😀

During my initial attempts at overclocking a P35 board, I accidentally pushed my RAM beyond its limits. Although the RAM I used was of high quality (Mushkin), it might not be suitable for all systems. This adds another layer to consider.

On one of my initial attempts to overclock a P35 board, I accidentally pushed my RAM beyond its limits. Although the RAM was of good quality (Mushkin), some might not handle such high speeds. It’s just another check to consider.

HAH, it turned out the RAM was the issue. After pushing it to 3.4GHz at 8.5x399, the RAM reached 799 and FPS didn’t drop. But now I’m stuck—how can I push it higher since it’s already so close to 800MHz and I can’t lower it further?

Could you confirm if there is an individual memory setting or strap you can adjust?

Is there a distinct memory ratio or strap you can configure? Yes, but adjusting it to the lowest setting and increasing the FSB to 399 results in a memory clock of 799 MHz.

It's acceptable; operating within the normal range should suffice. Small discrepancies in timing are typical due to rounding errors in the clocks, and slight variations within acceptable limits are common. Observing 799MHz instead of the anticipated 800MHz isn't surprising.
