Hello. I'm sorry, my English is not great.
The issue is that when I overclock my CPU model Q9550, my FPS drops significantly from 120-200 to 60-80. I'd appreciate more details if someone can assist me.

Next, examine your RAM. It could have been upgraded beyond its suitable capacity by your original designer. You may need to adjust a strap or set a lower speed, such as DDR2-533 rather than DDR2-800 (which the OC will increase, though still acceptable).

Have you verified your temperatures regularly? Overclocking can cause your CPU to overheat, leading to throttling.

It probably gets too hot and slows down. Have you verified the temperature under maximum load, and does your cooler suffice for cooling a Q9550 with an overclock?

Have you verified your temperatures? Overclocking can cause your CPU to overheat, leading to throttling. After an hour of Prime 68 degrees, I’m using hwmonitor and realtemp. There’s no throttling detected. In hwmonitor, I notice unusual readings when playing CSGO—clockspeed spikes to around 6ghz or higher, unlike with 3Dmark Firestrike.

Have you verified your temperatures at all? Overclocking can cause your CPU to overheat, leading to throttling.
After an hour of Prime 68 degrees, I’m using hwmonitor and realtemp. There’s no throttling detected. I noticed something odd in hwmonitor—when playing CSGO, the clockspeed spikes to around 6ghz or higher. That doesn’t happen with 3DMark Firestrike.
So the FPS drop seems specific to CSGO?
Have you confirmed that v-sync is disabled in CSGO? Also, consider reducing the overclock slightly to observe the changes.

Your Firestrike score has improved?
Have you ensured v-sync is disabled in CS:GO? Also consider reducing the overclock slightly to observe the effect.
I’m not sure if this issue appears with Firestrike either. With a 3.9ghz OC, the Firestrike score is roughly 600 points lower than at normal speeds.
I’ve experimented with various combos—3.2ghz, 3.4ghz, etc.—but the results remain inconsistent.

Consider lowering the overclock settings and observe if performance improves.

Consider lowering the overclock to check for improvement.
Performance doesn't increase. It only improves with the standard clock speed.

I don't have specific max temperatures recorded for the hardware monitor during gameplay with this issue. Could you provide more details or check the monitor's documentation for temperature specifications?
