Q6600 overclock help
My system details are as follows:
OS -> Windows 7 64bit sp1
MB -> https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5G41T...fications/
CPU -> http://ark.intel.com/products/29765/Inte...-2_40-GHz-> 1066-MHz-FSB
RAM -> 600 MHz
GPU -> http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-...ifications
PSU -> 650W Gamebird, model not clear from table
(If I check the right section, CPU is at B step; I’m unsure)
My issue is that I can’t reach above 2.6 GHz (sometimes the PC crashes). Temperatures are around 37°C, which is normal, but max load isn’t possible. It works fine at stock RPM when I enable full performance and turn off silent mode, but it drops to 27°C or 56°C max load.
So I only increase the FSB and not the voltage; there don’t seem to be any clear guides or explanations about voltages before the CPU.
If you're seeking advice on boosting your processor's performance,
consider these points. On the other hand, remember that standard cooling won't yield optimal temperatures, speed, or quiet operation. You may also need to think about the motherboard's capabilities for overclocking.
