I have a quick question for everyone. I’m planning to set up a dual PC system eventually, and I’d like to start organizing it now because I’m getting a new job with higher pay soon. I want to decide what’s best for my workstation role as a game developer. For the gaming side, I’m unsure whether a Ryzen 9 5950X or a Threadripper 3990X would be better. I saw a video comparing them and noticed the 5950X performed slightly better in games, but it also ran a 1080TI benchmark. I’m not sure if the TR will outperform the Ryzen 9. On the other hand, I really like having two ThreadRippers together, but I’m not sure which configuration would be optimal. Thanks ahead of time!

Well it may be "fastest", whether it is "best" it is debatable. Some would mention very hight energy consumption as a drawback (this implies better cooling, likely noisier). And there is a question if software supports this efficiency/performance cores. Win 11 required, and it seems Win 11 Pro is the way to go, it one opt to maintain some remnants of control over his own computer. And as mentioned, above certain point what matters foremost is GPU, unless we discuss hardcore world simulation games.
