I plan to replace my CPU and motherboard, which may require purchasing Windows 8.1 once more. When Windows becomes available for free upgrades to Windows 10, which periods qualify?

Yes, you'll do that. Save some money by getting an activation code from Reddit or G2A instead of buying a disc. Then use the ISO file to install it.

In theory, you get one year to switch to Windows 10 after its release, meaning by July 29th 2016, it’s possible.

Yes, but I wouldn't purchase the disc myself, as there are reliable sources for genuine keys and affordable options. You can then utilize the Windows Media Creation Tool to generate an ISO file or a bootable USB drive.

I recently installed 8.1 once more for a new PC. If Wi-Fi is enabled during setup, it will prompt you to reserve your upgrade slot before installation completes. Yes.
