Throughout my life I had to obtain windows through unofficial means because budgeting half my monthly expenses on an operating system wasn't feasible. Besides that, the concern is whether I'll retain access to the same key after significant hardware modifications. With so many OEM and limited retail options, I'm uncertain about what to expect. Do you know where I can legally purchase a license and use it without fear of issues down the line? Generally focusing on Windows 7 Home Premium and above. I used that chart to make my decision. PS: Considering this might mean a free upgrade to Windows 10 from 7/8.1...

It takes a lot of effort to reach a peak and battle a giant beneath the waves just to get the item you spent money on? One of the reasons I didn’t need to overthink before deciding to skip the purchase was this.

I think I might manage around $70. However, the only official options here are about $150, which feels... well, not great. Even without a student discount, that’s still way too high.

You checked eBay and found something interesting. I purchased Windows 8.1 Pro for £40, but double-checked the seller's reputation. Upgrading to Windows 10 is included for the first year as a bonus.

Look for sellers with strong reviews and positive feedback. High ratings often indicate reliability. Verify their credentials and check for transparent business practices.

I purchased Windows 7 Pro for $28. The seller appears trustworthy with numerous sales and a solid rating. They provided the serial number.
