Hello, it's a common question about upgrading Windows. Using a cheaper OEM key for Windows 7 and then switching to Windows 10 via the free upgrade option is possible, but it comes with risks. Many users have tried this approach, though compatibility and stability can vary. Always check the latest documentation and consider testing it in a safe environment before proceeding.

It's possible, but I suggest opting for a retail version to upgrade your system later. G2A offers Windows keys around $45.

OEM isn't necessarily upgradable. Windows versions sold by shops are typically for laptops. + can you use Windows 7 Pro OEM keys during a Windows 10 installation?

OEM keys are limited to devices with the identical motherboard they were initially installed on. You can switch your operating system to Windows 10, but hardware upgrades won't be possible if you alter the motherboard.

I understand. A friend mentioned that using OEM keys is against the law. They said it's not intended for personal use, but for shops selling PCs it's as legal as it gets. It seems like you don't need to install any hacks and you won't face the issues that pirated users encounter.
