You currently own two 8 GB modules, each with a different model number. Adding another pair of identical 8 GB modules would depend on whether they share the same batch and SKU. If they’re from different batches, it’s likely not compatible.

Perhaps it depends. To ensure reliability, they need identical memory ICs, which usually means being in the same batch. If not, having the same IC is still possible but highly unlikely, particularly in a cluttered place like a kitchen sink bin. While cross-IC compatibility exists, it's risky and not advised. In practice, it's usually smarter to purchase a different 2x16GB kit instead—it will likely be cheaper and more compatible.

Could you confirm if you'd like to know quickly on startup or if there might be lasting issues?

It seems the system either didn’t start or failed memory tests with XMP active. The issue might not be resolved after a month.

Yes, it should work well. All four slot machines are separate kits. The CPU? Early Ryzen models didn’t handle RAM as effectively as the latest versions.

Two distinct kits available, either with unique part numbers or identical ones.

Same model number but different production runs. Ram is Ram, produced by a limited group. As long as the part numbers align, specifications and dies tend to match.

I would connect them and reset your CMOS. Zen 3 can handle running four sticks without issues, so it should work fine.

Here are a few ways to phrase your question:

- I installed the second set of 2X8GB RAM and ran some Cinebenches, played games, and worked on productivity tasks. No crashes have occurred yet. Are I safe to proceed? What kind of memory stress test should I run?
