Some regions find the local store version more affordable compared to the online full-price model. Additionally, certain areas lack credit card usage or have limited access to Steam/Origin gift cards.
The price gap was €45 for the disc version versus €60 for the digital one. I also got it from a disc for fun. For BF4, I bought it on disc at roughly the same cost difference, and I downloaded the whole thing in just 7 minutes.
For those curious about this... As LoGiCaldrm mentioned, certain titles are available at a lower retail DVD price compared to online purchases (including my region). Overwatch, for example, can be obtained 10 dollars cheaper via DVD than online here. The key question was whether using the DVD is necessary if the game code is already included.
Used to be games like they used to be. But I'm a bit old-fashioned.
