Hey everyone, I'm setting up a PC and need to choose between an OEM Windows key or a retail one. Any advice?

It's fine to use OEM keys as long as the seller offers replacements if needed. A reliable seller should be able to provide them without issues, since they typically have a large selection.

I rely on Windows 8 OEM keys purchased during the initial release. I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro at no cost so far, everything is working smoothly.

It's a personalized budget setup—does it make any impact? Asus MoBo GTX 1660 Core i5 9400F with Conair 450W.

OEM refers to a specific kind of licensing. It generally means the product can't be passed on and shouldn't be offered unless it's integrated into a new setup.

Consider buying directly from Microsoft’s site for better support and warranty. Purchasing through retailers can be costly, but direct purchases often come with more reliable assistance if issues arise later.
