Hello, I own my PC for some time now and am considering upgrading my GPU to the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC 3X. It mentions a width of 5 cm, which is three centimeters wider than my Palit Dual GTX 1060 6 GB model. However, one of my SATA cables is extremely close to the GPU I already have, and I understand that the new GPU wouldn’t fit there because the cable would block its path. I checked my motherboard and noticed two black boxes labeled "SATA 'arrow down' 5 'arrow up' 6" and "SATA 'arrow down' 3 'arrow up' 4." I’m unsure if these are removable and I’m certain there must be a SATA port available since a wider GPU isn’t possible at the moment. Could you assist me? I really have the RTX 2070S ready to go. Thanks!

The black boxes are actually SATA ports with visible L shapes. Position the GPU in the upper slot, avoiding the ones connected to SATA cables. The silver box above the MSI logo is for use.

These containers serve as extra SATA connections, positioned outward from the motherboard for this purpose, ensuring they don’t obstruct a GPU. Are your wires connected to the labels SATA1 and SATA2 exiting the board? If yes, relocate them into the corresponding slots on those containers to free up space around the GPU.

Avoid using SATA1 and SATA2. Below them, there are two banks of SATA ports available for alternative use.

Wow, I must be stupid, but I see the port now in the picture. Yes, I have the GPU there, though the SATA ports next to the black box block it. There are larger GPUs available. Thanks!

when you have many drives and wish to utilize them, in situations where conflicts might arise, consider these Amazon links: https://www.amazon.com/QIVYNSRY-Degree-S...ljaz10cnVl
