You're thinking about getting the Ryzen 7 7800X3D now, but you're concerned about upcoming updates. It's true that Intel often delays new CPU announcements, so the 7800X3D might still be a good choice today. However, waiting could mean missing out on newer features or performance improvements. Consider your needs and budget before deciding.

Are you still happy with your existing computer? If not, it might be time to wait for the next generation of CPUs and upgrades.

It depends on what you're referring to—check if it's a software release or something else.

The upcoming X3D CPUs are scheduled for release in Q1 or Q2 2025, not earlier. For a new build, consider the 7800X3D. The newer 8000 Series CPUs differ from X3D and may offer less performance compared to the 7800X3D or similar results, but they could match it. You'd miss out on CPU availability for about three months if you're upgrading. This situation is either a fresh system or an upgrade—please share your current specs if you need guidance.

Plan for next week. Earlier reports suggested Computex would kick off on June 3rd. Of course, it's not about the new X3D chips—they'll arrive months later—but this could lower prices for older models.

I have a 1080 Ti processor, the power supply is solid, and I’ll upgrade the rest.

You're referring to an 8th generation Intel processor or a similar chip from that era. The 1080 Ti is also a great choice!
