Hello, the i9 7980xe is described as new and open box. This usually means it hasn’t been used or modified, which can affect its value. Would you consider purchasing it? I already own an x299 board from eBay.

Who would really buy the 7980XE? It’s extremely demanding, uses a lot of power, suffers from serious security flaws, and its performance falls short compared to similar AMD models. It’s essentially a wasted investment.

Consider selling your X299 board for a better model like the 3950X or Threadripper 3000, or purchase my 1950X system at a lower price. It includes an X399M and 32GB of RAM.

It looks like a regular eBay shop owner. The price seems steep, but if you have the budget, it's totally okay. I usually purchase GPUs and some other PC accessories from those kinds of online stores.

It’s quite costly. An AMD Ryzen 9 3950x plus a suitable motherboard could be purchased for a lower price.

Absolutely nothing left, it's all gone. Let someone else handle the X299 board—Ryzen would simplify things more, and it's much easier to stay cool.

I believe buying from that seller isn’t a big problem—they’re reputable with solid reviews. But @5x5’s price is unrealistic; $1000 for a 7980XE sounds like a huge waste. Better sell your X299 board and upgrade to a Ryzen 3000 CPU with Mobo. The 3950x and a solid X570 would be a far more practical choice, and even better options exist without breaking the bank. For workstation processors, Ryzen is currently the best option, while Intel remains overpriced regardless of new releases. It wouldn’t make sense to stick with them.
