Purchasing a CPU at launch
Purchasing a CPU at launch
to be honest with you are going to have to bot. waiting for intel will drive prices down. their 8 core option is going to destroy any CPU in single threaded performance.(26% against Ryzen 9) and has PCIe 4.0 which is around 3-5% increase. intel is going to take back its crown. I'm kinda already hyped for alder lake where they will have a 10nm version which will most likely have 10 cores. this will force amd hand as most people game and claim to due work on their pc. tldr: intel will force amd prices down
Compared to the GPU, this launch offers better accuracy for comparison, with solid choices from both sides available right now. You’re likely to find a suitable option without much hassle—provided the stock is stable and coronavirus isn’t slowing things down. The GPUs are currently struggling because of rushed releases, weak sales in the 2000 line, and limited good deals before the 3000 series hits the market for premium models.
I’m uncertain about the comparison, yet if you need something extremely poor, consider being prepared to act quickly.
Expect strong interest, yet during their pitch they mentioned CPUs are "currently shipping globally," which gives some optimism for the stock's performance.
I heard mixed reports about which stores might carry the Ryzen 5000 in Australia. Someone on Reddit mentioned they spoke to a staff member who said it would be rare to find one at launch. It seems some uncertainty exists, possibly due to allocation issues. While independent reviews are expected, leaked test results appear to support AMD’s claims. Since I haven’t upgraded yet and prefer building my own PC, I’m not in a hurry but might need to buy a 3900X soon. I can wait a bit longer, but I’d rather not delay until next year for availability.
