I purchased this without realizing it was designed for Intel or that it also supports AMD. What does this actually imply and how can I adjust the settings to ensure it performs optimally with my processor?

Turn on DOCP and everything works smoothly. Performance is now independent of the processor type, similar to what was seen in Zen 1—AMD’s memory controllers have improved significantly.

I'm not up to date on recent RAM improvements, but there are timing preferences varying between Intel and AMD, as well as across generations. Give it a try, and only adjust if you encounter issues—then experiment or swap components.

I don't need to return it and receive the AMD version.

It's clear you want a concise explanation. In summary, everything is compatible with JEDEC standards.

@Corsair Nick, @Corsair Joseph, @Corsair Johan, @Corsair, and @Corsair Blake. They can explain what's happening. And I won't ask Mr. Grumpypants, as he's not worth the risk.

If I were them, I wouldn’t. They could only respond with a negative answer, making Corsair appear foolish. Or they might agree, but end up seeming less impressive.

Install the RAM, activate DOCP/XMP settings, and you're good to go. Completed. Or dismiss my words and send it back. Your confidence matters.
