Purchased GTX960 for a discount on the Facebook marketplace and ended up damaging my computer!
I purchased a GTX 960 2GB for $30 on Facebook Marketplace Australia. After installing it, I was thrilled to find it worked perfectly—consistent performance without any issues. I’ve changed graphics cards multiple times yet never experienced anything like this. Even when using older cards or alternatives, the system remains stable. I’m worried about being scammed and unsure what to do next with this situation. Thanks for your help.
Disconnect the PC from power and remove the CMOS battery for a short time. The motherboard will revert to its default BIOS configuration. Reinsert the battery and power it back on, then attempt to boot again. This issue hasn’t occurred before, but it seems linked to fast boot functionality and possible corruption. If you access the BIOS/UEFI, consider turning off Fast Boot.
Disconnect the power supply and take out the CMOS battery for a few minutes, then reinsert it and restart, using a different graphics card.
