Purchased Dark Souls II: Collector's Edition
Isn't this the first sin DLC? EDIT: It's essentially the game plus the DLC with some updates. All versions will get new features like more NPCs for a richer story, tweaked settings for better balance, richer item details, and enhanced online matches.
Read what was posted on Steam. It suggests checking the enhanced 64-bit option for better graphics and additional features. Online play, saves, and achievements between these versions don’t work together. Buying one version won’t give you access to the other. The system needs different requirements, so compare the game pages for more info. This implies you can’t upgrade graphics if you stick with one version.
I purchased the complete game plus SotFS on DVD from Amazon, which includes a Steam code allowing you to play without using the disc. The version I received is the 64-bit edition available on Steam, meaning it’s optimized for Direct X 11 on PC. The original standalone release was only in DX9 format. You can upgrade from DX9 to the newer DX11 version through the Steam store if desired. Keep in mind that enemy and item placements differ between versions, so the developers kept multiplayer separate—DX9 players can’t connect with those running DX11. This extra complexity comes at the cost of improved graphics.
