I purchased an internal HDD to serve as external storage for my Mac. I already have a 1TB drive that I use, and I bought a 6TB one because my dock has two slots. When I try to insert the new HDD into the dock, it doesn't initialize properly. In Disk Utility on Mac, it displays 0KB of storage space, and any attempts to erase or restore fail—just a generic error appears. My 1TB drive worked without issues, which is confusing since I’m unsure what went wrong. The HDD I’m using is the WD 6TB NASware 3.0. I’ve tested it in both slots of the dock and it functions there too. I even moved it to my Windows machine, but neither disk appears there either.

Did you attempt it step by step? My dual dock occasionally behaves strangely when both ports are filled, which somewhat undermines its function but...

No, the dock does not support 6TB capacity drives.

Can you quickly check if the drive is faulty? It seems like a hardware problem, and I've already tried all possible solutions.

Optimal approach is to test it on another system or interface.
