Purchased a second-hand laptop and found it tricky to understand hard drive installation!
Hey everyone, I bought a used laptop with a 24GB SSD and a 256GB HDD. I’m a bit confused about how Windows is set up—seems like it’s running on the SSD, but I can’t upgrade to Windows 10 from 8. This makes me wonder if the OS should actually be installed on the SSD or if it’s meant to support the HDD instead. I’ve got some screenshots (from Windows 8) here: [link1](https://prnt.sc/js7gkb), [link2](https://prnt.sc/js7pyy), [link3](https://prnt.sc/js7q7e).
They installed the OS on the small SSD and placed the storage drive on the HDD, ensuring there was enough free space and a recovery partition. Simply reinstall the OS on the HDD and configure the SSD to function as a cache alongside the Intel storage.
Okay thanks. Last question, though. If you look at my second screenshot, it looks like windows has been installed on the HDD (Ddrive), do i have a secondary windows installation on this d drive?? I think this because when i try to save something to the d drive, it prompts me with a ''you don't have permission to save here''
