Hey there! I’m a long-time viewer and this was my first time posting out of a rush. I just got a new GPU for an upgrade, but it’s not turning on properly. When the CSM is active, it boots with a short beep pattern, while with it off it shows a single long beep followed by three short ones. It functions perfectly with my old card without any issues.

My system specs are: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Asus B450M-Plus Gaming (BIOS 3802 & 3604), Ryzen 5 5600, Palit Jetstream 1070, 4x4GB HyperX Fury 2666MHz, CL16, Crucial P2 250GB drive, 4TB Seagate Barracuda, WD Blue Seasonic Focus GX-850 (80+ Gold), and a stock PSU. The new card is an EVGA XC3 3070.

I’ve tried two different BIOS versions, used various PCIe cables and slots on the PSU, removed old drivers via DDU, and tested each RAM stick individually. So far, it works fine on both my PC and my cousin’s. I’m using an HDMI cable, but they got a DisplayPort connection and still had beeps even without anything plugged in.

It seems like something might be off with the motherboard or RAM. I’m not too sure yet, but I’m out of budget to replace them. I’m a bit confused and a little worried. If anyone has any ideas, it would really help!

Based on the board, it should either be memory or no VGA detected. Remove all modules, test on a single stick, add more if needed to check if one is faulty or if they weren’t installed correctly. Ensure the GPU is securely placed in the case and the PCI-e power connectors are connected to both the GPU and PSU. Consider removing the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS and eliminate old settings that might interfere with the new card.

Additionally, if you reset the CMOS as Applefreak recommended, navigate to the BIOS and verify the PCIe settings are configured for Gen 3, Gen 4, or automatic mode.

I've checked all these options yet and nothing worked. It seems the beeps aren't helping and it might be a faulty HDMI connection. The 3070 shows a black screen initially, while the 1070 handled the beeps without issues and reached Windows smoothly.

The 3070 is inserted directly into the PCIe slot, not requiring a riser cable.
