I discovered a 12900k for $189 right now. Just need to check it out, lmao. It was sold at a local store selling used books and electronics. I have a 30-day return policy, so I’m not too concerned about it not working. I’m thinking about whether to resell it for a big profit or upgrade from my 9600k. It was even cheaper than the 9900k they had there.

Upgrading from my 9600k to even the i7 10700k brought significant performance gains. I’d keep it and consider replacing the motherboard if it improves. The 9600k wasn’t hyperthreaded; it would stutter during games when CPU usage was high and wouldn’t let me play music in the background on Spotify or similar sites.

It seems like your setup matches what you see online, including the gold wafer packaging. I'm looking for a solid motherboard without major issues on eBay.
