I purchased a Ryzen 2700 for my nephew’s new setup. We intended to use the free code to obtain Borderlands, allowing both of us to play together, since I received it for free from my 3600X. I paid for the CPU, but then the seller checked my receipt and said the game codes were all used up. What? I already bought the CPU. I would have chosen the 2600 at a lower price if I knew this was even possible. They still promote the deal on Amazon and Newegg, yet Microcenter claims everything is sold out. Anyone have any ideas?

It's tough to get value from them even when they're still available, so it's wiser to skip them from your purchase list. Apologies for the limited help—I just tried to share what I know.

You should consider online marketplaces or specialized software stores that cater to game developers. Platforms like Gumroad, Itch.io, or your own repository might be suitable options.

Reddit could offer the best chance for OP because the classifieds part here restricts selling game codes.

Yeah, it's not great but 2700x is much better than the 2600 for long-term use and everyday tasks. You won't regret it if you upgrade later—just make sure to get a good cooler too. A 3600 or higher would be fine, and buying something like the Hyper 212 wouldn't cost much extra. Unless you go with a 2133 RAM, then it feels a bit worse.
