Hi there, Connor. Here’s a quick summary of your situation: You bought a 5-year-old PC and are planning upgrades—specifically a CPU (7900XTX) and a Ryzen 5 5700X3D. You’re asking if the RM750X will work for this build and whether you need to manage those 3x8 pin cables since you only have one sleeved cable branching into multiple cables. Thanks for reaching out, and feel free to ask more details!

7900XTX reaches its maximum around 365W, meaning OCed probably won’t exceed 400W. Your CPU and the rest of the system won’t hit 350W unless you use extra fans or something similar. Looks good overall. Consider getting new cables—Corsair should have replacements, and Cablemod offers aftermarket options in various colors.

750W capacity works fine with a 5700x3D setup. The 7900XTX supports up to 400W max. However, the 750W power supply needs at least two 8-pin PCIe cables (or a 6+2 configuration), meaning one cable won’t suffice.

It's likely your power supply had additional connectors, just what you needed for three plugs.

You're welcome! It depends on the setup—keeping the existing cables works, but using a 1 8-pin or 6+2 configuration might be better. Let me know if you need more details! Cheers.

The 8-pin PCIe and 6+2-pin PCIe cables are identical, just omitting two pins for GPUs that accept a single 6 or 8+6 connection. An 8-pin EPS is another type but won’t fit unless you have significant force (since they’re keyed differently). You should be comfortable using the dual 6+2 cable you already have plus an additional 8-pin one.

It isn't necessary for a 6+2 configuration unless your GPU lacks a 6-pin power connector, in which case you can opt for an 8-pin connection.

I wouldn't suggest purchasing an unnamed brand's cheap cable for any GPU, particularly one that costs a lot. Opt for a replacement from Corsair directly or from a trusted aftermarket supplier. Corsair offers various cables tailored to different PSU generations, so the general "for Corsair" message doesn't give me confidence.

Thanks to everyone for your support. I chose to purchase three separate 8-pin cables from Corsair and just bundle them together for display. Your feedback was very helpful.
