I have an idea. G2A sells Win8.1 Pro for around 40€. I’ve purchased several games from them and everything seems fine. Now I’m wondering if it’s a good move to buy the Win8.1 key, install the OS, and then upgrade to Windows 10? My second concern is how difficult it will be to format the system later if everything works out. Which key should I choose?

EDIT Conclusion: In the end, it’s not a great idea. See https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/co...they_seem/ if you’ve had positive experiences with G2A games. Purchasing an OS is completely different. Hope this helps those still unsure. Buy from a store for certainty.

Usually there aren't valid keys, but they function even though they're not the official ones.

In short, you mean the game is decent, but it's risky for the operating system and should be avoided.

Pirated keys are common; most G2A keys come from MSDN sources.

It's rare to find four instances where Microsoft denies support for keys purchased from G2A—they might function but aren't genuine. Some games were taken out of their library after being bought from G2A. Links provided cover discussions on forums and Reddit threads about this issue.

This discussion highlights concerns about the reliability of G2ACOM. The author notes that while you receive a Win8.1 key, it may not be a solid or practical choice for the future. Suggesting higher costs to access a more trustworthy option on a reputable site. Topic has been closed. Appreciate the input.

For games, losing $6 isn't a huge issue—bought two there—but the OS feels a bit unreliable.
