I spotted this i9 CPU on AliExpress and I’m really drawn to it. What do you think about purchasing CPUs from AliExpress? Could there be a risk it’s counterfeit? The Intel Core i9-10900T is listed as QTB0 1.5 GHz, 10-core, 20-thread processor with L2 at 2.5M and L3 at 20M, consuming 35W and using LGA 1200. However, after checking, it doesn’t display as an i9 at all—it shows up as CPU 0000. It seems like a mistake, but I’m glad I didn’t buy it without verifying.

It's not a fake—it's an engineering sample, which might affect stability. For everyday use, the 10th gen isn't ideal; consider LGA1700 chips or AM5 options. If you're already set up, a regular i9 is better than an i9 10900. For newer builds, opt for a CPU with a lower TDP, like an i5 13600 rather than an i9. Since it's a T-series model with 35W TDP, it's not the best fit if you're aiming for a super-efficient, high-core count setup.

Yes, it should function properly. As for Windows detection, it depends on the specifics of your setup.

It should function but runs at a very slow clock speed of 1.5Ghz. Since it's an engineering prototype, features like turbo boost may not work properly, so performance might be limited. For better upgrades, consider switching to an AM4 platform—options like a 3700X for under £100 or a budget B450 around £50 are available.

It's unlikely to appear as an i9. Refer to the link for more details.

Current ES chips might not work with the latest BIOS updates on many motherboards. Back then, it was more typical to assume they’d function, but now that’s less certain. You’re likely facing uncertainty.

It appears as if the listing shows "Genuine Intel CPU 0000" and the seller confirms the GPU isn't compatible, suggesting no PCIe support.

reading the feedback it’s even worse than a 9700F with a single core and only slightly improved in multicore. I’d say it’s showing its age and isn’t a worthwhile buy.
