Unless it's a Samsung b-die with excellent timing, the 3600 tends to stay stable beyond base DDR4 standards. (2133) G.Skill Ripjaws V 3600 featuring 16-16-16-36 timings ranks among the top choices for reliability, and using just two modules often allows a 3800 overclock with slight adjustments. If you don’t see a Samsung b-die, stable performance at higher speeds or tighter timings is unlikely beyond XMP limits.
In this scenario, the 3600 16-16-16-36 package will likely deliver better results. The 4000 model isn't assured to work smoothly on a Ryzen 5000, and many reviewers report issues at those speeds. Timing also plays a role. Consider using a 4-module kit or two 2-module kits, as the 4-module version gives the Ryzen 5000 roughly a 5% boost in frame rates compared to the 2-module setup.
The 4x4 option is indeed superior to the 2x8. I reviewed the Gamer's Nexus video, sorry for the delayed reply.
3600CL18 offers average performance. Consider opting for another model later on.
