I'm exploring some hardware options for overclocking a Ryzen 5 1600. I haven't owned one before, but I'm curious about the possibilities. I'm considering the MSI B350M Gaming Pro motherboard and the Seasonic S12II-520 Bronze 520W power supply. Do you think a 520W PSU would work, or should I opt for the more expensive Seasonic 620W instead?
Also, are there any recommendations for affordable HTPC cases?

For the PSU question it depends on the GPU you plan to use with it, though anything up to 1080 should work. In reality, with your first overclock you probably won’t want to push too far, so a decent unit (the one you referred to is solid) would be ideal. With a standard cooler in an HTPC case, the situation changes significantly—they just aren’t providing enough airflow for comfort. I wasn't aiming for an extreme OC, but considered trying a bit with the stock cooler (which I assumed was feasible). Still, I noticed that in games at least, the OC wouldn't make much difference. To be honest, when it comes to programming or app development, the compilation speed is more important than your drive. Even running an i3 is excessive, but extra threads can aid multitasking. It really depends on your needs—whether you prefer minor OC changes or none at all, the better cooling will mainly lower noise levels.
