Hi, My pc won't turn on properly and I can't figure out why. After turning it on it turns off after a few seconds and the PSU makes a click sound. I've tried a different known working PSU + cables but the issue remains. No display output at all. This system has been working fine for years but suddenly developed this issue overnight. Parts list: CPU: i7 4790 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H rev 1.1 (removed CMOS battery for troubleshooting) PSU: CoolerMaster RS-650-AMAA-G1 RAM: corsair 1600mhz DDR3 8GB x2 (only 1 stick for troubleshooting)

It seems like a simple circuit. A decent PSU includes a relay to skip the NTC thermistor on the input side. The clicking noise isn't problematic—it's just the sound the PSU emits when switching on or off, originating from the motherboard's signal.

Some PSUs can produce noises like this, though it’s not always desirable. It might indicate over-regulation or other problems. I experienced a similar situation—just crashes occurred—so I swapped in a Corsair RMX and everything worked fine (no clicking).
