I’ve been assembling a PC recently. I swapped my Corsair HX650 with an SF600 last weekend after replacing the PSU. After turning off and then powering back on, my system would repeatedly loop, flashing the motherboard lights and RGB before shutting down and restarting. Pressing the power button didn’t help. Switching the PSU off via its switch stopped the looping, but turning it back on caused it to restart again. To get a proper boot after sleep, I have to disconnect the 24-pin ATX cable from the motherboard each time. It’s unclear if this is related to the power supply. The problems began after I changed the PSU. My PSU tester shows everything as normal, even when it loops and then works. What other components might be affected? Here’s my PCPartPicker list: motherboard, CPU, NVMe drives—all a month old; RAM, GPU, case (my cherished Corsair 380T) at least five years; the new PSU is only a week old.
Have you tried resetting the CMOS? Often there’s a switch or a jumper with pins or a button. Give it a go and observe. It might fix issues caused by a corrupted UEFI setting. Keep this in mind if you’ve adjusted overclocking or settings, you’ll need to reapply them.
