The question has been discussed multiple times, yet I remain uncertain due to the variety of responses. PCPP suggests a maximum of 400W, but should a 550W PSU provide enough headroom for an i5-7600k? I plan not to overclock the EVGA FTW 1080 since it's already running high and adding more heat isn't beneficial in a mini ITX case.

550w is more than enough. The maximum the CPU will use at stock settings might only be a few extra watts, but an OC could push it up to around 30 watts. A GTX 1080 can sometimes jump in power, so choosing a PSU with a bit more capacity is your safest choice.

Rogue Leader:
550w is more than enough. The maximum power usage from the CPU during OC could be around 30 watts extra. With a GTX 1080 that can sometimes surge, choosing a 550w power supply when overclocking is the ideal choice.
