PSU for overclock 600w enough?
PSU for overclock 600w enough?
The online calculators seem to be a bit too optimistic, so I thought it would be best to ask here. (Before I begin, I want to mention that I’m based in Brazil, which means options are limited and prices are significantly higher.)
My FX-8320e is overclocked at 4.2 with 1,36V (Push/Pull 212x), 4x 2gb DDR3 1333 MHz at 1.5V @ 1600 RPM, 1 HD 5400, 1 HD 7200, GTX 970 ITX 4GB (at 1366core and 7500MHz +0.037mhz), plus a DVD drive. There are 9 120mm coolers and 1 80mm cooler on a 40 LED TV.
Currently, I was using a Corsair CX500W but sometimes encountered blue errors, the TV would blink, or overclocking errors appeared during boot. I noticed the 3.3V rail was below the 5% tolerance. So I disconnected the DVD drive and the 5400RPM HD, which resolved the issues. To be safe, I also took the GPU OC off.
Therefore, I’m looking for a new PSU and thought about purchasing an EVGA 600B (after conversion it would cost around 100 USD). I can’t go much higher unless the 600W is sufficient... I just need some advice.
My question is: Will 600W be enough to get all the components and OC back online?
Thanks all!
The 600w is sufficient, but the EVGA 600B doesn't offer good value for quality.
SR-71, according to what I've seen, the Corsair CX series performs worse or matches EVGA's level. Isn't that correct? Specifically, the CX tier 4 and EVGA tier 3 (source:
br.rosso: SR-71, according to my reading, the Corsair CX series performs worse or is on par with EVGA. Isn't that right? Specifically, the CX tier 4 and EVGA tier 3 versions (source: The older CX series hasn't had its capacitor list updated. The newer models improve performance by upgrading capacitors and creating minor rails, offering better reliability and a longer warranty. You'll recognize a new unit by its simple black and white, gray finish—no green like the previous tougher CX models.
br.rosso: SR-71, but according to what I've seen, the corsair CX series is inferior or at least on par with EVGA. Isn't it correct? Specifically, the CX as tier 4 and EVGA as tier 3 (source: I've shared an upgraded version of the CXM which is really good and offers great value.
