I own several Dell 7020 Plus units with 260W power output, but ordering a 500W unit isn't possible since the supplier doesn't have any. Could there be a third-party PSU that fits inside a Dell PC (with at least 500W capacity to run GPUs like 4060 and 4060 Ti)? It's functioning well with the 260W model, but if stress is applied it causes the system to crash and restart.
None of the form factors for 7020 plus depend on a regular power supply. They need Dell-specific models.
If you already have the 4060/ti installed, take it out and remove any adapters you used. This might be risky.
I need to find a way to make this work.
I have two possibilities.
The first one I tested used a 500 W PSU from Dell, but it was quite costly—about twice its price—and it functioned perfectly with the 4060 model.
The second option is to look for a local PSU that can fit inside the Dell PC and use a converter to change the pin configuration from 20 to 8 pins, allowing it to power the motherboard.
You don't get a model that matches your needs, it doesn't have the standard design. It's not just about Dell using unusual connectors inside—you can't even fit another one if you tried. Get a different machine built for a 4060 or one that supports upgrades. That's your only option.
Now I just need to purchase a Dell standard 500 W model at a higher cost
