Hello everyone, I just bought the GIGABYTE Z590 AORUS ULTRA LGA 1200 board and an Intel i5 11600k with extra components like RAM. I’m upgrading from a fairly old system but my PSU is still solid (EVGA 700 80+ Gold). My motherboard needs two 8-pin connectors to power it, while my PSU only has one. Can I still run the machine without changing them? Should I replace either or both? What’s your advice?

Check if the PC starts using just one CPU connector and runs smoothly. If it works, you likely don’t need a new PSU. Otherwise, consider upgrading to an 850-watt or 750-watt PSU.

Are you certain it isn't sharing content with just one connector? From what I understand, the second one is usually not required.

Your 11600k won't generate enough voltage to require two 8-pin connectors. Even a well-overclocked 11900k wouldn't. I'd just take the left side of the two 8-pin slots—labeled "1" and "2"—assuming they're all functional. If somehow Gigabyte restricted it, I'd send the motherboard back before the power supply.

Hello everyone, thanks for your feedback. I tried it with just one 8-pin and it worked well! I'll keep testing it for a while before making any changes, but if it remains stable then it's okay. I placed my PC outside the case first and everything looked fine. Now it's time to put it back in! Thanks all.
