PSU failing 3 times?
PSU failing 3 times?
What are the odds of a PSU failing three times? I purchased mine about four years ago, and the initial power supply began to malfunction around a year in. It was a 550-watt unit, and after some time it switched to an RMX 650-watt model from Corsair. It functioned for about eight months before showing failure signs. I had to replace it under warranty, and now it’s been six months since the replacement. The new PSU is also showing failure symptoms again. I’ve inspected all connections, tested components, updated BIOS, disassembled the machine, and done everything possible. Still, the problem persists. How likely is this happening? Since I’m getting another warranty replacement soon, it’s possible I’m unlucky, or there might be a deeper issue.
PC specifications include an RTX 2060 graphics card, an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF processor, 16GB of G.SKILL Ripjaws V memory, and an AsRock B450 Pro4 motherboard. The current power supply unit is a RM 650 with a gold rating. The previous power supplies were a 550-watt model, followed by an RXM 650 watt gold unit from Corsair, and the third was identical to the second. The failing one is the third unit.
