You should check both options—connecting the 6 pins separately or the 2-pin ones individually—to see which works best for your setup.
Which motherboard are you using? Typically it’s a 6-pin for extra PCIe or a 4x4 setup for the CPU.
My MSI B660M Pro setup involves adding the 6+2 pin configuration to my GPU.
I faced the same issue when linking my RTX 2060 Super. The correct method is to align the 6-pin connector properly on the left side of the GPU and match its orientation with the 2-pin connectors on the left two ports, which should be on the right side of the 8-pin GPU pin.
I just tested it, but the pin on the PCI cable isn't fitting into the GPU.
