Protection software, virus defense & security gateway
I’ve stopped using zone alarm because it was frustrating and slowed me down. I quickly searched for alternatives and came across antimalware solutions. I was surprised to learn this isn’t just another antivirus name. Now I’m exploring firewall options too—what should I consider? What are the best choices? Since I previously paid for zone alarm premium, I’m open to trying something else. I’m willing to spend a bit because I used avast and malware bytes before. I want recommendations that fit older hardware and don’t strain the CPU. Please let me know if you have suggestions or experiences to share.
You don’t need anything complicated—just choose the free or paid version of Malwarebytes. Staying away from unusual websites will greatly reduce infection risk. Windows Defender and Windows Firewall are sufficient for basic protection, but adding Malwarebytes offers extra security.
Windows Defender offers solid protection for free, but its performance may vary compared to paid antivirus solutions like Avast. Consider potential downsides such as limited advanced features and occasional updates.
This doesn't seem logical at first, but I understand. Regardless, OP says those three are the best option, and many of you here agree with that.
It works more smoothly since it's part of Windows' foundation, right?
