Hi all!
I've been using this system since 2012 and it meets my requirements. The most demanding games I play are Star Wars Fallen Order and Mass Effect Andromeda. A budget or mid-upgrade is acceptable; I don’t need the latest models.
My system isn’t compatible with Windows 11, so an upgrade is necessary.
My suggested upgrade includes:
1. Motherboard: MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi
2. CPU: MD Ryzen™ 5 9600X
3. RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) G.SKILL Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 6000MHz
4. GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 5060 8G Shadow
Is this a suitable system? Are there any aspects I should consider or alternatives to look into?
Also, I have some older parts I’d like to reuse, such as my SSD and HDDs. I have two questions:
1. Would my ToughPower 650W PSU be sufficient for these components?
2. Could my old Asus GeForce GTX 1050 Expedition OC 2GB GPU work with the CPU, RAM, and motherboard listed?
Thanks in advance!

When the toughpower reaches thirteen years, you receive your paycheck. Move along.

Are there any specific features of W11 you’re interested in or require at the moment?
You can maintain your current W10 system as long as it meets your needs.
Lack of support doesn’t stop you from using it; new window features won’t be added to W10. You’ll still need to update regularly.
For security, Windows Defender and standard browsing habits should protect you.
And yes, you have an external backup ready in case of a virus or ransomware attack, right?
To address your concerns:
1. A 650w might not be ideal due to potential power spikes from modern graphics cards.
Look for something with 850w or higher. Even if the PSU is overpowered, it will only use what it needs.
2. The GTX1050 should function, though it may not be suitable for fast gaming or high-resolution tasks.
What else are you considering?
Case, cooler, RAM, monitors…
