I don’t understand why, but I chose to modify my bash prompt that way. Just paste the script into /usr/bin and let bash run it automatically at startup. You’ll need to adjust the colors in your terminal settings.

Having system specifications on the left would make it more polished, similar to Archey on Arch Linux.

It could be the limit set by OSX itself, or it might depend on a specific CPU configuration.

You can use the system_profiler command directly. Parsing the XML manually isn't necessary if you're okay with the built-in functionality.

I put GLaDOS on my console: The compatibility issue didn’t fully resolve, but I upgraded it so I can issue commands directly without switching to regular bash.
