Project Cars previously struggled with AMD hardware, especially on older GPUs like the GTX 770 compared to newer models such as the R9 290X. However, recent YouTube content from the past two weeks shows people achieving smooth performance using the FX-8350 alongside a GTX 970 or 780 at high frame rates of 60-80 FPS. This is encouraging since I had anticipated around 30-40 FPS. I’m hoping for even better results closer to the upcoming release. Could anyone with a recent build confirm whether Project Cars runs well now on an FX-8350? Also, what about AMD GPUs? I plan to upgrade to an i7 by year-end for production tasks like university game development and rendering projects—hopefully that will boost my FPS even more. Thanks. (I’m aware drivers haven’t been released yet, but knowing it can work beforehand is a positive update.)

It seems the game features many Nvidia branding elements throughout the levels. But what’s the performance of the FX-8350?

It smells like another Nvidia GameWrecks title.

Project Cars relies on PhysX to power its physics system, similar to how they built Shift 2.

Using these adjustments, my 7950 runs smoothly at high frame rates around the start line and over 60fps elsewhere at the standard 850MHz. The environment map is contributing to performance issues—reduce its intensity if your FPS drops significantly.

Even the HD 7950 isn't performing well. It's surprising that the GTX 770 offers a 10 FPS edge over the R9 290X.

I'm not sure which benchmark you're referring to. Could you clarify the one you mean?
