Programs performing poorly with moderate resource consumption
Programs performing poorly with moderate resource consumption
Games are a bit of an overstatement. I mostly play Old School Runescape, but here’s the setup: Ryzen 5 2600X, RX 590, 32GB DDR4 at 2666MHz. Temperatures stay normal—around 50°C for both GPU and CPU. Drivers are current. I looked for others with similar problems, but their fixes didn’t match mine (like thermal throttling or RAM speed issues). The screenshot shows OSRS running in a heavy workload with the 117HD plugin enabled at reasonable settings. I’m getting about 25fps. The GPU runs a bit hotter than usual, but everything else stays stable. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks.
Hey there, friend. It sounds like you're dealing with a mix-up. The RAM you bought claims to be 4000MHz, but the numbers from Task Manager, BIOS, and CPU-Z don’t match. That’s definitely confusing. I’d suggest double-checking the RAM specifications and making sure it matches the actual part number. Also, confirm if your motherboard supports that frequency—sometimes BIOS settings can be tricky. You might want to verify with a compatible RAM tester or consult the manufacturer’s guidelines.
I realized it myself. My RAM doesn't match the motherboard, at least according to the PDF. My CPU is a 2600x (Pinnacle Ridge), and I have G-Skill "F4-4000C18D-32GVK". Pressing Control-F didn't help. Probably a lesson learned—maybe it's time for a new motherboard. Thanks for guiding me, @OddOod!
