When I attempt to add the Hangar or rocket builder, performance drops significantly. I’m wondering if reducing background processes or adjusting settings can help minimize lag. Also, I want to confirm this isn’t an issue specific to my build—my system has a 980ti and 5820K.

You definitely shouldn’t be experiencing lag in the hanger. How many components are in your builds? I’m asking because I have a massive space station, and every time I approach it I notice slowdowns. Remember, KSP is still a 32-bit program and can only handle about 3GB of RAM, but you shouldn’t be seeing lag in the hanger since physics aren’t active there.

It slows down immediately upon entering. Nothing works, just a complete stall. EDIT: This occurs when examining the ground below.

It's because the game runs on a 32-bit system, which limits its memory usage for loading images.

Bullshit. It can get more than enough ram to load all of the default textures.
