I aimed to reinstall Windows 10 due to performance issues, but I mistakenly erased all data on the drives (C:, D:, and the installation ISO). I had to visit a repair shop where they installed an outdated version on a separate boot drive—definitely a cracked copy. I’ve been using it since version 22H2 after an update. I’m wondering if performing a reset this time aligns with Microsoft’s recommended steps, and whether I still retain the Windows 10 product key on my motherboard. I also had an authentication key during purchase.

The Windows 10 activation key is kept in the DMI/SMBIOS open cmd. If it shows nothing, it means you're not using an OEM system (like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.), and reinstalling the OS will need an OS serial number attached to your computer's chassis.

I run the command in CMD to fetch the OA3xOriginalProductKey and it displayed nothing. I also tried it on my laptop, which returned the product key.
