I understand, Vista is quite old, but I need to dual-boot it with Windows 8.1 to play my older games. It's functioning, though it doesn't seem authentic. I'm having trouble locating any places that still sell Vista product keys. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm having trouble because my motherboard is quite recent, and SATA seems to be causing issues. Probably the problem started when I attempted that. Overall, it doesn't function properly.

Yes, I confirmed the 64-bit version was included.

It was definitely a 64-bit system.

Yes, you can opt for a virtual machine as an alternative to dual-boot. A Vista product key might become scarce, so consider other options.

There are updated versions with the latest SATA drivers. I'm running dual-boot on my studio machine for an older program version. It works with SATA 6Gb/s.

I also tried that, but my games wouldn't function. I turned on all the advanced 3D features, yet they couldn't connect to DirectX. That seems useful, so I might give it another shot. Still, the main goal wasn't to discover alternatives—it was to locate Vista product keys.

I mentioned wanting to play classic titles. Linux still supports a limited selection, and most older games are unlikely to run properly.
