I purchased the laptop two years ago, and I have access to my backup files. Can I retrieve it? Additionally, could the key be compatible with another computer?

You might try a tool named MicrosoftToolkit to retrieve your CD key if it's missing.

Since Windows 8 was released, the product key is built into the motherboard. As long as you use the recovery drive on your laptop's hard drive, it will automatically fetch the key and turn on Windows. There’s no chance to use the key on a different computer.
