I believe you checked the details using hwinfo rather than browsing the summary page. Seems there was an incorrect display, but I haven’t encountered that before.

It seems the present current monitoring circuit might be malfunctioning and instructing the CPU to aggressively reduce performance using its highest reading. This issue likely stems from the motherboard or CPU itself, making it hard to pinpoint the source. For accurate assistance, reach out to AMD support—they handle hardware details more effectively than general guidance. From what I know, motherboard support generally lacks in-depth technical knowledge, whereas AMD support can provide quicker hardware information.

Must be a bug in the readout because the temperature is way too low. There is no way you would be even able to cool it at all on air/water at this wattage anyways.

If you reverted to stock settings, the CPU should be unable to pull more than 140A at any time for any reason. That's the stock EDC setting - which is higher than the 95A stock TDC setting. It also can't pull more than 142W. So either the reporting is wrong, or something is seriously borked with your motherboard's power delivery. Have you tried clearing the CMOS to revert to stock?

I went through earlier eras and relied on various tracking tools to monitor temperatures, including Ryzen Master showing consistent results.

I faced quite a few problems with this build, but I just swapped in a 5950X to replace the 3900X. The first boot was super hot and shut down immediately, though my AIO is fine. After a few restarts it seemed to recover itself. Before this card, I owned an MSI MEG ACE x570 and had to file a return request, so I went with Asus instead—preferring their BIOS and knowing the hardware better. I didn’t run into any issues until after installing the new processor. My PC shut down for hours, then everything returned to normal. Hope this isn’t the start of my Gremlins saga...

I thought I was getting a temperature sensor reading, but everything felt very slow. I noticed the frequency and wondered what’s going on… But honestly, I’d still be okay at around 35°C while idling. XD
